Mrs. Garcia explained her unique position as she works for both Lee College Foundation and Lee College. She discussed the Office of Resource Development and how her role is to ask for money to give money to students in the form of scholarships and grants. Read moreIt was June of 2012 when the Rotary Club of Dayton dedicated a helipad financed by their own fund-raising events, donations from private citizens and donations from local business establishments. Since that time, the helipad has been used on a regular basis by Houston Life Flight helicopters and even by the military to drop off much needed supplies during the devastating floodwaters that hurricane “Harvey” dropped on Liberty County as well as most of east Texas in August of 2017.

Read moreThe Dayton Noon Lions Club held one of their big annual fundraisers last week with their Pancake Supper. Local Lions were on hand to provide eye screenings for children and there was a silent auction to help raise funds towards the Lions Mission. The event was held at the Dayton First Baptist Church, and the Dayton High School National Honor Society assisted at the event.
