Trusting God Completely

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Allowing God to be your guide begins with a commitment to trust. God cannot lead you where you will not follow. If the future feels uncertain right now, and worry keeps occupying too much room in your heart, in your mind, remember this: God is already in all of our tomorrows. He knows our way, and He has a plan. And we can be assured it’s always the best one for us.

God never asks us to figure it all out on our own. He just asks us to trust Him, to recognize His leadership and Sovereignty in our lives. And He promises to make our pathways straight. He is faithful to lead us and He sees the big picture. He brings clarity and light through foggy times. He knows what’s around the other side of the bend where we can’t fully see. His timing is perfect even when we start to feel like we’ve been forgotten. No matter how we feel or what our current situation may be, we can be confident that God’s Presence will go before us, paving out pathways, guiding and guarding our steps.

God wants you to trust him one day at a time. Philippians 4:6-8 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

As we go through our daily lives, each one of us experiences difficult situations. A lot of the times when we go through pain or suffering, we are surprised that these situations find a way into our lives and forget that God has told us that we will experience hardships. We are given the gift of faith from Him and are taught to use this valuable fruit of the Spirit, but a lot of the times we do not. In difficult or confusing times, we are quick to worry about them instead of having faith. The grace of God has given us the gift of faith, not because we deserve it, but as a result of the everlasting goodness of His works.

Remember that when we need God all that we have to do is prayer and seek Him. God is always near. Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.”
