PROM DRESS SALE

The 27 Dresses Project will host its annual Dress Sale on Friday, March 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. by appointment, and Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the public at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty. This will take place at 539 Main St., Liberty.

On Saturday, March 23, Calvary Baptist Church of Dayton will host Breakfast with the Bunny from 8:30-10:30 a.m. It is a free event and open to all.

We welcome folks to come and play games, eat breakfast, and grab a selfie with the Bunny! Calvary Baptist is located at 4031 FM 1960 in Dayton. Call Pastor Ken Davis at 832-643-5828 for more information.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Liberty Lady Panthers Volleyball team is hosting a Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, March 23, at the Liberty Municipal Golf Course. Proceeds will be used to support the volleyball program, like housing for the Wimberley Tournament in the fall, snacks, gear for all volleyball teams, and much more. RAYWOOD’S BIG EASTER GIVEAWAY

Join Doris Lang Ministries for a big Easter giveaway at the Old School Gymnasium in Raywood on Saturday, March 23, from noon to 1 p.m. There will be signs directing guests to the event. A limited supply of free Easter gift baskets will be given to registered individuals. A free bag of groceries is available, limiting it to one bag per household. Children ages 3 to 13 will receive a free Easter egg treat bag. There will also be a Sunday School skit and door prizes. An adult must accompany all children to receive their gifts. All gift items and groceries will be distributed at the event only. First come, first served. To pre-register as required, call 512-762-2610.

BAKELESS BAKE SALE

The Friends of the Library are hosting their Bakeless Bake Sale on March 24 and 25 during the Liberty Jubilee. Donations of any amount may be mailed to Beverly Davis at 1711 Webster Street, Liberty, dropped in the mail slot at her front door, or dropped off at the library. Make checks out to the Friends of the Library. Donations will be accepted now through March 31. All money goes to the library for activities, such as the Summer Reading Program, and supplies that may be needed throughout the year. The Annual Book Sale will take place on the library’s second floor on March 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and March 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. during the Jubilee.

DAYTON HISTORIANS TO HEAR HISTORY OF SCHOOLS

The Dayton Historical Society meeting will be on Monday March 25, 6 p.m. in Parker Hall, located behind Dayton’s Old School Museum at 111 W. Houston St. The public is cordially invited.

Presented by Dayton historian Janette Goulder-Frick, the program will spotlight a 150-page book entitled “History: The Early Years of Dayton Schools – I.S.D., Colbert & Common School Districts” which documents historical highlights from 1847 through 1995.

An introductory quote in the book dated August 6, 1847, states — "Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the town of Liberty that land in west Liberty (now Dayton) be set aside for the purpose of building a school house.”

IT’S AN EGG HUNT!

Swing by Liberty Municipal Library March 27 at 11 a.m.! To celebrate the arrival of spring we will be sharing an egg-cellent story with the Easter Bunny and then we will be hosting an egg hunt for area children. The Easter Bunny will pose for pictures at the conclusion of the event.

Candy-filled eggs will be hidden across the back park of the library for little ones to seek, and three lucky searchers will discover special eggs which they can turn into the circulation desk for a free Easter basket filled with toys and candy.

This event is free and all area children are invited to attend.

The library is located at 1710 Sam Houston Street in Liberty. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, please call the library at 936-336-8901.

KENEFICK NEW LIFE EASTER EGG HUNT

Join New Life Church on Saturday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. for their Community Wide Easter Egg Hunt! It is located at 3056 FM 1008, Dayton, with overflow parking at Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, located just North of the event at 3536 FM 1008, Dayton. There is an Egg Hunt and hot dogs, popcorn, food, games, bouncers, firetrucks, and fun for the entire family! The Egg Hunt sections for kids 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and even a special needs section. FLB EASTER EGG HUNT

TASTE OF CLEVELAND

Join the Greater Cleveland Chamber for Taste of Cleveland as they celebrate diners and driveins, while enjoying foods that bring back memories on Wednesday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Cleveland Civic Center, 210 Peach Ave., Cleveland. This unique business expo welcomes businesses of all kinds (not just restaurants) to set up a booth and serve 200+ sample-size servings to attendees. Attendees will get a plate at the entrance then set out on an adventure around the ballroom to get a “taste” of each business. They will also receive a bingo card that will be filled by visiting the exclusive bingo booths. Once completed, they are entered to win a fantastic prize. Regular booths are $30 (limited to 40) and bingo booths are $85 (limited to 14) and are offered to past bingo booths first then a waiting list. Prepaid tickets will be $10, walk-ins will be $15. GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN – 80’S LADIES NIGHT

The Dayton Chamber of Commerce will host an 80’s themed ladies’ night on Friday, April 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. for a night full of fun to support women in business. This will take place at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton. Individual tickets will be sold for $75, tables of 10 will be $700, and vendor booth space (limited to 25 vendors) will be $50. Sponsorship opportunities are available, contact the chamber for further information. There will be a dance party, food and drinks, door prizes, and so much more, you don’t want to miss it! A portion of the proceeds raised will be used to further encourage and help maintain a strong successful business climate for Women Owned Businesses and Women Entrepreneurs in Dayton and Liberty County. MT. CALVARY CLOTHING DRIVE

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church is taking donations of student-size/style clothes for their annual back-to-school giveaway in July. They no longer give away adult clothes or household items but are returning to their program’s original intent. For more information, call 936-346-6244.

HARDIN ATHLETICS FUNDRAISER

The Hardin Athletic Booster Club is hosting a gun raffle with a winner every week for 52 weeks. Tickets are $50 each, and only 1000 tickets are sold. You must be 21 or over to enter. POPCORN FRIDAY

The Dayton Chamber of Commerce at 801 S. Cleveland St., Dayton, Texas, hosts a Popcorn Friday each week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by and meet your chamber staff while grabbing some free popcorn.

CONVERSATIONS & BREAKFAST

Pastor Ken Davis from Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton invites everyone to talk to him or pray with him on Friday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to noon at McDonald’s. You bring the conversation, and he buys the breakfast. You are also more than welcome to send him a Facebook message to leave a prayer request for him.

SENIOR LUNCHEON

Every Tuesday-Friday at the Dayton Community Center, a free senior luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. All are sponsored by Grace Initiative, Dayton’s Meals On Wheels. Call 936-258-6630 to sign up for a meal.

YARN CLUB

Every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Yarn Club meets at the Dayton Community Center. There will be crocheting, quilting, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery and almost anything you can think of with yarn! Call a Yarn Club member with questions at 281-385-5398.

INSIDE WALKING

SENIOR BREAKFAST

On the third Monday of every month, a Senior Breakfast will be held at the Dayton Community Center at 10 a.m. Donations are welcomed. Thrif-tee Food Center will sponsor the breakfast.

The City of Dayton will host Dominos 42 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon. at the Dayton Senior Center. If you are not into “42,” then bring some friends. There will be plenty of cards and dominos at the Senior Center. You can start a new group!

HARDIN SENIOR CITIZENS

The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week, Tuesday-Friday. The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Friday at 7 p.m. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is at 9456 Hwy 146 N. in Hardin, Texas.
