Never judge a book by its cover

THOUGHTFUL THINGS

We have all heard the cliche’ “Dont judge a book by its cover”, right? As we contiunue to go through this short article, I hope that you will be forever changed by this book and that you will see others in a differnt light.

Luke 7:36 says ‘ And behold a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, and stood at this feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with her tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment” One of my most favorite books is in such pitiful shape, the pages are worn, the binding is literally coming apart at the seam, its faded, and yet the contents inside the book are so powerful, inspiring, and moving that I have literally read this book numerous times!

It is a book that will teach me, inspire me and help me to grow as an individual both physically and spiritually. And even though the book is falling apart, I will not discard it. I will continue to read this book until the words have faded so greatly that I can’t see them and then hopefully at that point, I will have memorized it enough to embrace all that I have gained from it.

People are like this book, many have so many stories that they can tell and so much knowledge to offer, but their outer covering may be a little tattered, worn, faded, and torn but they still have a great story to tell. They just need someone to reach for them and open their book!

They have a world of knowledge and giftings that are just waiting to be read and explored, all they need is for someone to love them and allow them to open up and become who God created them to be!

Everyone has a past and we may not be able to take away or change it, but your past can become a learning experience to you and to someone else. Don't ever be ashamed of your story because it will inspire others!

So when you see someone who’s tattered, torn and worn, don’t judge them and think that God can’t use them, because you don’t know what the inside of their book has to offer. You may be missing the greatest story, worker, worshipper, or saint that has ever walked into your life. We all have issues that we struggle with daily and it is only by the grace of God and His mercies that are new every morning that we are able to turn the page and start a new chapter in our lives. Dont ever discard someone because of the way the appear, because you don't know that cost of their praise.

Just like the sinner women with the alabaster box, all God wants is a willing vessel and a changed heart.

May you always rememeber that Jesus is Alive and he rose on that third day so that you and I might have life more abundantly. Happy Easter and may God bless you!
