On July 16, 2013 the Dayton Yarn Club donated 27 lap robes to the American Legion Dayton Memorial Post 512 to be distributed to veterans in the Dayton and Liberty area nursing facilities.

The Dayton Post set up times for delivery to each of the nursing facilities.  Lap robes were personally handed to each of the veterans by American Legionnaires at Liberty Healthcare and Magnolia Place in Liberty Aug. 6 and at Heritage Villa in Dayton Aug. 15.

The American Legion Dayton Memorial Post 512 wants to thank the Dayton Yarn Club for the robes and for their spirit. The Veterans appreciated the robes.

Liberty Walmart Supercenter teamed up with the American Legion Dayton Memorial Post 512 to sponsor the post's first annual Patriot Day Golf Tournament, a 2-man scramble Sept. 14, 2013 at the Magnolia Ridge Country Club.

Walmart donated 75 patriot caps to be given to each player entered into the tournament.
