State Representative John Otto (R-Dayton) announced he will seek re-election to represent House District 18 in the Texas Legislature.

"It is a great honor to serve the people of House District 18. I have worked hard to represent their values and interests in the Legislature. With their support, I look forward to continuing to represent them," Otto said.

Representative Otto, a certified public accountant, is serving his fourth term in the Texas House and sits on the powerful Ways and Means and Appropriations committees.

"As a budget conferee this past session, he was instrumental in helping pass a balanced budget that did not raise taxes or use money from the Rainy Day Fund for ongoing expenses.

"This past budget was difficult, and given the current economic uncertainties in our country, it appears that the next budget will be equally as challenging," Otto said.

"I will continue to make prudent and fiscally disciplined decisions to ensure the stability of our state's budget and economy."
