The Dayton Lady Broncos seemed to have picked up right where it left off on Friday afternoon at Crosby as Dayton took out the Lady Cougars 5-2 in a softball scrimmage.
In 2018, the Lady Broncos made it to the Regional Semi-finals for the first time in school history and look to be primed for another deep playoff run under Head Coach Daryl Bell.
Dayton scored three runs in the third inning to move ahead 3-0 as Amanda Carden led things off with a single, and then after a walk, first baseman Sydney Hebert went yard for a three-run homer to left field.
The Lady Broncos added a couple of more runs the rest of the way as Carden also hit a home run for Dayton. Ally McKinney got the start on the mound for the Lady Broncos.
Dayton will scrimmage at Liberty on Friday evening and then travel to Crosby for the season opener on Feb. 11. District play will get started on Feb. 26 at Barbers Hill.Â
