LIBERTY — It was a joyous day at Liberty High School on Wednesday morning as three Panther baseball players signed their letters of intent to continue their baseball career at the college level.

Caden Mullinix will be heading to Penn State-New Kensington, which is located in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.

'My mom is from Pennsylvania, so it felt like home when I went to visit the campus,' said Mullinix. 'It is a good fit for me, and I am excited for the chance.'

Also signing was Grady Silva with Dallas College-Brookhaven. Silva, who pitched a two-hitter on Saturday to put Liberty in the playoffs, will pitch and play first base for the Blazers.

'They will keep me at the same positions as I am playing now, and with Gage going there also I feel real comfortable about my choice,' said Silva.

Joining Silva at Dallas College will be teammate Gage Pavliska. 'Dallas is close to home for me, so that was a biggie,' said Silva. 'They will have me catching and possibly doing some pitching,' said Pavliska.

Congratulations to all three players, and good luck to them and the Panthers as they start their series with Bridge City tomorrow night at Lamar University in the Bi-district round of the playoffs.
