SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVEAWAY

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church invites all area families to a free (all sizes) clothing and school supplies giveaway. This event will be Thursday, July 29 (from 9 am until 7 pm) & Friday & Saturday, July 30-31 (from 9 am until 2 pm). Mt. Calvary is located at 2988 HWY 105 East (3 miles East of Moss Hill). BEREAN TABERNACLE REVIVAL

The Berean Tabernacle is holding a Revival August 1-3, starting at 7 pm each night. On night one, Dr. Sheri Dark-Goudeau from Berean Tabernacle will officiate, night two will feature Dr. R.J. Revels from Mt Olive Baptist in Dayton, and night three will see James Berry from St. Paul United Methodist in ort Arthur. There will be a temperature check and social distancing.

DAYTON HS 9TH GRADE ORIENTATION

Dayton High School will be holding its 9th Grade Orientation at 6 pm, August 2, in the auditorium. DHS is located at 3200 N. Cleveland.

CLEVELAND BACK TO SCHOOL SPECTACULAR

Cleveland will be hosting it’s Annual Back to School Spectacular on August 6, 2021, from 5 pm-7 pm at the Cleveland Civic Center.

We invite you to participate in giving back to the community and give our future leaders a head start to a successful 2021-2022 school year.

Our event has become one of the biggest Back to School events in the Cleveland community, serving over 700 school-age children.

Once again, we have been fortunate to partner with the Health Center of Southeast Texas to provide more backpacks this year. This event will be a drive-thru giveaway. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the Cleveland Civic Center at 281-592-2395.

MEET THE HORNETS

Monday, August 9, 2021, 7:30 pm (Hardin High School Stadium)

Hardin will be hosting a Meet the Hornets 80th Birthday event on August 9, 2021. The Hardin Athletic Booster Association will be selling smoked sausage wraps and other Hardin merchandise. There will be free Hardin merchandise given out to the community by the HHS Cheerleaders. There will be an introduction to our school’s new superintendent Mr. Scott Mackey. We will be introducing the fall sports teams, the Hardin High School Cheerleaders and Mascot, and the Stingerettes Dance squad. The band will perform community favorites. It will be an excellent opportunity to kick off the 80th birthday of our school!

DAYTON HS OPEN HOUSE

Dayton High School will hold its Open House on Monday, August 9, from 4–8 pm. DHS is located at 3200 N. Cleveland.

TCL TRADE DAYS

The Tarkington Community Library will be hosting TCL Trade Days on the second Saturday of each month from 9 am – 4 pm. They will have arts, crafts, antiques, baked goods, sweets, vintage boutiques, concessions, and family fun. The event will be on August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, and December 11 at the Library located at 3032 FM 163, Cleveland, TX 77327. ST. MILES MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH 95TH

We are excited about what God has done and is doing here at St. Miles Missionary Baptist Church, and we are looking forward to all that God has for us in the future as we continue to look to him for guidance and wisdom. As we look back over the years, we must pause and be thankful to the Lord who has blessed us with His presence year in and year out.

We take this opportunity to invite everyone to come and help us celebrate 95 years as a beacon of hope and serving the spiritual and communal needs of the community. Please accept our heartfelt invitation to help us celebrate another milestone through God’s love, grace, and mercy. We will celebrate on Sunday, August 15, 2021, @ 10 am. DAYTON SENIOR CENTER

The Dayton Senior Center is NOW open Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Lunch is on Wednesday & Fridays with a $3 fee (Must sign-up and pay prior)

Sit & Be Fit workout class 12:30 to 1:15 pm; Mondays & Thursdays (starting August) Other programs to come!

VETERAN MEET-UP

You are invited to join us for breakfast and camaraderie with fellow veterans. 1st Saturday of each month 8:30–10:30 am Cleveland Historical Museum. The museum is located at 203 E Booth St in Cleveland.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

The Family Church in Hardin is hosting Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS

Trust the process. Narcotics Anonymous meets every Monday and Wednesday at 7 pm at 424 Main Street in Liberty, next to Jax Hamburgers. For more information, call 254-716-9965.

COFFEE WITH THE MAYOR

The City of Liberty has Coffee with the Mayor on the third Thursday of the month.

CLEVELAND FOOD TRUCK FUSION

We are expanding our hours and inviting craft/boutique vendors to join us for our May 6 kickoff event! The new hours are Every Thursday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Call 281-592-2395 and talk with Marina or Ashleigh at the Civic Center to get added to our vendor list!

Mobile Food Vendors are required to submit paperwork for a mobile food vendor permit. (The fee is $100) - https://www.clevelandtexas. com/.../Mobile-Food-Vendor...

Boutique/Craft vendors are not required to pay a vendor fee and just need to fill out the vendor form with the Civic Center. (210 Peach Ave.)

As the legislative branch of the City of Ames government, the City Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and fundamental decisions for the city are discussed and decided. City Council members are elected at large.

LIBERTY CITY COUNCIL MEETING

All members are elected at large. The regularly called meetings of the Liberty City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Special called meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month; however, meetings may be reached at any time to conduct necessary business.

PLUM GROVE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Second Monday of each month

Meetings start at 7:00 pm at City Hall.
