Bridgehaven will be hosting a Spirts and Sparkle night, sponsored by Iguana Joe’s, on Friday, Nov. 18, from 5- 9 pm at the Dayton Community Center. You can reserve a ticket for $ 50 ( appetizers and drinks included and ticket to Saturday Shopping). Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite. com.

Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 808 Washington Street Liberty, Tx 77575, will be selling Smoked Turkey Legs on Nov. 19. The event will start at 10 am and last until sold out. For purchase of tickets, please see Bro. James Harmon, Rev. Ronnie Henderson, Sis. Debra Dangerfield, Sis Lana Henderson, Sis. Betty Spencer, or Sis. Linda Devers. Cost of the smoked turkey legs is $12.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Transmission Exchange of Liberty is teaming up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to ensure no family is left without holiday gifts this year. Toys for Tots boxes have been set up at our office for the collection of gifts. The shop will accept donations of new, unwrapped gifts for kids and teens. Donation collections will stop on Dec. 9, to ensure proper time for gift delivery. You can drop off items at 1826 HWY 90, Liberty.

FREE THANKSGIVING DINNER

St. John Baptist Church will be hosting a FREE Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 24, 11 am – 2 pm at the Harvest Event Center, 9775 North HWY 146, Liberty, TX 77575. Dine in or carry out. Everyone is invited!

NEW LIFE CHURCH THANKSGIVING DINNER

The New Life Church is inviting the community to a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 24, from 12-3 pm. It is dine- in or carryout. The church is located at 3056 FM 1008 Dayton TX 77535. Call 936- 258- 1008 for more information.

OPERATION NOEL

Spirit of Sharing will begin interviewing for Operation Noel at the SOS office located behind the Thrift Shop on the corner of Texas and Beaumont in Liberty. We will begin interviewing on Nov. 7 and end on Dec. 7 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am-12pm. Must have proof of income, any support letters such as food stamps, unemployment, SS, SSI, paycheck stub, etc. Children from birth to age 16. Have your children’s 2 wishes ready.

ALCOHOL CHEMICAL TREATMENT SERIES

A. C.T. S. is now being offered in Liberty by a trained, program certified, instructor. These classes will satisfy court orders and/or personal growth desires. Mondays at 7 pm at New Life UPC 2510 Jefferson. For additional information call David Darbonne 713502- 5685

FOOD TRUCK FUSION

The City of Cleveland will be hosting Food Truck Fusion on Nov. 17, from 11 am – 1 pm, at its new convenient downtown location, 106 W. Hanson, Cleveland, TX 7327. There will be a variety of food trucks, plus, some fun additions to enjoy!

DAYTON SENIOR CENTER The Dayton Senior Center is NOW open Monday - Friday, 8 am 5 pm.

Lunch is on Wednesday & Fridays with a $ 3 fee ( Must sign- up and pay prior) Sit & Be Fit workout class 12: 30 to 1: 15 pm; Mondays & Thursdays ( starting August) Other programs to come!

TCL TRADE DAYS

The Tarkington Community Library will be hosting TCL Trade Days Saturday, Nov. 12 and Dec. 13 from 9-4 pm. They will have crafts, arts, canned goods, boutiques, quilts, lotions & soaps, and various other booths. Also, the library has a Book Nook that is now open that sells books. LFD SMOKED/ FRIED TURKEY FUNDRAISER

The Liberty Fire Department is hosting a Smoked/ Fried Turkey Fundraiser Nov. 23. They are taking orders from Oct.1 to Nov. 18. A smoked turkey is $55 and fried is $60. You can pick up your turkey at 1912 Lakeland Dr., Liberty, TX 77575 from 10 am to 4 pm. Order forms are available on the website under the Annual Event Tab; www.cityofliberty. org, Fire/ EMS page. All proceeds go to the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, and will be used to purchase gear and other needed equipment.

HARDIN SENIOR CITIZENS The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week Tuesday-Friday the center opens at 8: 30 am for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit. For more information or to reserve your lunch, call 936- 298- 3107. The Hardin Community Center is located at 414 CR 2010 in Hardin.

DAYTON OLD SCHOOL MUSEUM

The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.

COFFEE WITH THE MAYOR The City of Liberty has Coffee with the Mayor on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 am in council chambers.

DAYTON FOOD TRUCK FRIDAYS 11 am - 2 pm every Friday on 111 N Church St. in Dayton.

AMES CITY COUNCIL MEETING

As the legislative branch of the City of Ames government, the City Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and fundamental decisions for the city are discussed and decided. City Council members are elected at large.

LIBERTY CITY COUNCIL MEETING

All members are elected at large. The regularly called meetings of the Liberty City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Special called meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month; however, meetings may be reached at any time to conduct necessary business.

PLUM GROVE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Second Monday of each month Meetings start at 7: 00 pm at City Hall.
