DAYTON CREPE MYRTLES
The Dayton Enhancement Committee began this project in October 2021 and has 75 more trees to go!! The crepe myrtles are a beautiful way to enhance our town on the US 90 median west of Dayton. The first plating in 2021 was for 125 trees, so we are doing a “LAST CALL “so this project can be completed. The last planting will be sometime between November 2023 and January 2024. A $ 100.00 donation per crepe myrtle “in honor of “or “in memory of “is all that is required. Forms are available on The City of Dayton website. ANNUAL BUTTERFLY COUNT
Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting the Annual Butterfly Count for northern Liberty County on Saturday, Oct. 21. Areas to be counted include the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge and Tarkington Prairie. Their meeting location is the Shell Fuel Max Gas station at Hwy 105 and FM 2518 at 9 a.m. They should be fi nished by 3: 30 p. m. REVIVAL
Berean Tabernacle will host a Revival at 405 Hwy 146 Bypass, Liberty, on Oct. 22- 24. Guest speakers will be in attendance, and Pastor Dr. Hurley Clayton Jr. will be the host.
84TH CHURCH ANNIVERSARY
Lily of the Valley Baptist Church will have their 84th church anniversary on Oct.23 at 3 p.m., at 308 Baker Circle, Ames, Texas. MAMMOGRAM DAY
The Rose non-profit breast health provider is partnering with the Marshall Family Practice to reach uninsured women, ages 40 and older, through The Mobile Mammography Program with screening mammograms. This mammogram opportunity for no cost to those eligible will be held on Oct. 26 from 9 am to 3: 30 pm at 601 S. Winfree in Dayton. DVFD HAUNTED HOUSE
The Dayton Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 2 will host a Haunted House at 203 Cook St. in Dayton behind the Jack-In-the-Box. Tickets are $12 each, and the dates are Oct. 20-21 and Oct. 27-28.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland will host a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct.28, from 4- 7 p. m. The church will also be showing children’s movies in the gym.
FBC DAYTON FALL FESTIVAL The First Baptist Church of Dayton is hosting its annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 5-7 p.m. A fun time for the whole family with free food, candy, games, face painting, an inflatable slide, a jump house, crafts, a petting zoo, snow cones, and much more. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 202 E Houston.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Trinity Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 6- 8 p.m. There will be various activities and refreshments for guests to enjoy.
GCCC ANNUAL TREAT STREET The Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Treat Street event on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. at the Cleveland Civic Center. There will be a Best Decorated Booths Contest. The event gives community youth a safe place to get free candy. Also, this event is an excellent opportunity for our local businesses and organizations to interact with the community and advertise your business/ organization. The Dayton Enhancement Committee is hosting a Bourbon, Beer, and Bites event on Saturday, Nov.4, from 6-9 p.m. at The Crossroads, 111 N Church Street, Dayton. Ticket prices for the tasting entry will be $40 and $20 for general admission. Ages twelve and under are free.
AUSTIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY POPUP MARKET The Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Austin Memorial Library, and the city of Cleveland have partnered up to host a pop-up market for young market vendors on Nov. 7, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Austin Memorial Library. Kids 5-13 years old will be able to have a vendor. Vendors will need at least 20 products to sell, including homemade crafts & jewelry, beverages (hot chocolate, lemonade, etc.), flowers & plants, homegrown veggies & fruits, or table decor. CONVERSATIONS & BREAKFAST Pastor Ken Davis from Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton invites everyone to talk to him or pray with him on Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 12 pm at MacDonald’s. FIRST SUNDAY JAM
The first Sunday of each month, Cleveland VFW is sponsoring “ The First Sunday” jam hosted by the Loose Change Band from 1–5 pm. Bring your axe and your talent. Musicians wanted. There will be food available.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY
The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Friday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them.
