A benefit will be held on Sept. 30, beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m. for Coach Robert Clark. Special guests Willie-D & The Hip Pockets will be performing at 6 p.m. BBQ sandwiches, or sausage on a stick, chips, and drinks are $15 and available at noon. This event will occur at the Harvest Event Center at 9775 N HWY 146 in Liberty. The City of Cleveland will be hosting a fall market on Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Entry is free to the public, and there will be various vendors, food trucks, live music, and a kid’s zone. Join the Friends of the Trinity River Refuge (FOTTR) for their Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge Appreciation Day and “Walk for the Wild” on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Champion Lake, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Events will include Walk for the Wild, Paddle for the Wild, The Big Sit Bird Count, Tour of the Historic Casa de Los Patos Lodge, Interpretive Speakers, Photo Contest and Scavenger Hunt, and various educational exhibits and information booths. The Liberty County Prayer March is gearing up for its fourth annual gathering on Saturday, Oct. 7 at noon. The march will begin at the Vara Faye Daniel Pavillion outside of the Liberty City Hall. OKTOBERFEST AND BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will host an Oktoberfest and Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2041 Trinity, Liberty, TX. The Oktoberfest will start at 6:00 p.m., and the Blessing of the Animals will begin at 4:00 p.m. For the Blessing of the Animals, attendees are asked to bring a bag of cat or dog food, which will be delivered to an animal shelter. The TVE Fair and Rodeo will hold its annual wine tasting on Friday, Oct. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at the TVE Fairgrounds, 321FM 563, Liberty. Join the Liberty Lions Club for an All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hillsboro Global Methodist Church, 133 East Walnut. Adult plates cost $10, Seniors cost is $8, and children 12 and under cost is $5. The price includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage and gravy, and your choice of beverage. St. Anne’s and St. Joseph’s will host a Parish Bazaar on Oct. 15 at St. Anne’s Mission Hall, 744 County Road 622, Dayton. The Rose non-profit breast health provider is partnering with the Marshall Family Practice to reach uninsured women, ages 40 and older, through The Mobile Mammography Program with screening mammograms. This mammogram opportunity for no cost to those eligible will be held on October 26 from 9 am to 3:30 pm at 601 S. Winfree in Dayton. The Dayton Volunteer Fire Dept. Station 2 will host a Haunted House at 203 Cook St. in Dayton behind the Jack-In-the- Box. Tickets are $12 each, and the dates are Oct. 20-21 and Oct. 27-28.

AUSTIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY POPUP MARKET The Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, Austin Memorial Library, and the city of Cleveland have partnered up to host a pop-up market for young market vendors on Nov. 7, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Austin Memorial Library. Kids 5-13 years old will be able to have a vendor. Vendors will need at least 20 products to sell, including homemade crafts & jewelry, beverages (hot chocolate, lemonade, etc.), flowers & plants, homegrown veggies & fruits, or table decor. Mt. Reah Church is hosting a fish fry fundraiser at 65 County Road 2149, Cleveland, on Dec. 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

CONVERSATIONS & BREAKFAST Pastor Ken Davis from Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton invites everyone to talk to him or pray with him on Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 12 pm at MacDonald’s. You bring the conversation, and he buys the breakfast. You are also more than welcome to send him a Facebook message to leave a prayer request for him.


The first Sunday of each month, Cleveland VFW is sponsoring “The First Sunday” jam hosted by the Loose Change Band from 1–5 pm. Bring your axe and your talent. Musicians wanted. There will be food available.

SENIOR LUNCHEON Every Tuesday-Friday at the Dayton Community Center, a free senior luncheon will be held at the Dayton Community Center 11 am – 12 pm. All are sponsored by Grace Initiative, Dayton’s Meals On Wheels. Call 936-258-6630 to sign up for a meal.


The Dayton Senior Mid-day Movie event is every Thursday after lunch at noon in the senior center. The movies are provided by Jones Public Library and hosted by the Dayton Community Center.


Every Tuesday, 11:30 am –1 pm, Yarn Club meets at the Dayton Community Center. There will be crocheting, quilting, knitting, cross stitch, embroidery, and just about anything you can think of with yarn! Call a Yarn Club member with questions at 281-385-5398.

The Hardin Senior Citizens meet at the Hardin Community Center each week, Tuesday- Friday the center opens at 8:30 am for anyone wanting a little breakfast at no charge or just to swing in to visit. DAYTON OLD SCHOOL MUSEUM The Dayton Old School Museum is open to the public from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays. The museum is located at 111 W. Houston St. in Dayton.


The Family Church in Hardin hosts Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Friday at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is at 9456 HWY 146 N in Hardin, Texas.


The City of Liberty has Coffee with the Mayor on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 am in council chambers.
