Barbers Hill blanks Galveston Ball 48-0
MONT BELVIEU— The Barbers Hill Eagles defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns, and a big second quarter provided for a 48-0 win over the Galveston Ball Tornadoes on Friday night at Eagle Stadium.
Barbers Hill started the scoring late in the first quarter with Brady Barrier hooking up with Tripp Davis on a 39-yard score, making it 7-0.
After a safety early in the second quarter made it 9-0, Barrier then found Miles Spurlock on a 25-yard touchdown and a 16-0 lead with 8:00 minutes left in the quarter. Barrier then connected with Davis on a 25-yard score, and after a successful two-point conversion, the advantage was up to 24-0. Late in the first half, Chris Clark picked off a Galveston Ball pass and returned it 55 yards for the score and the Eagles led 38-0 at the break.
Early in the fourth quarter, with a 41-0 lead, Kolt Prater picked off a Tors pass and took it 43 yards the other way for a Barbers Hill score and the 48-0 win.
Barrier passed for 181 yards and three touchdowns while Davis finished with five receptions for 112 yards and two scores.
The Eagles are now 6-3 on the season and 3-2 in district play. After a bye week, Barbers Hill will end the regular season on Nov. 7 in Beaumont against West Brook.
