Barbers Hill stays perfect in district play

MONT BELVIEU– The Barbers Hill Lady Eagles continue to roll in district as they picked up victories over Baytown Lee and Beaumont United this week.

The Lady Eagles opened at home last Tuesday night and rolled over the Lee Lady Ganders 65-14.

Barbers Hill led 17-6 at the first period and then increased their halftime advantage to 29-10 at the break.

The third period saw the Lady Eagles outscore Lee 21-2, putting the game away 50-12 heading into the final eight minutes.

Just for good measure, it was Barbers Hill winning the final period 15-2 to get the big win.

On Friday night, the Lady Eagles traveled to Beaumont and used a big second half to take care of the Lady Timberwolves 52-30.

Barbers Hill led 11-5 after the opening period, but United won the second quarter 10-8, cutting the deficit to 19-15 at the half.

In the third period, the Lady Eagles opened up a lead, outscoring the Lady Timberwolves 16-7 to increase their advantage to 35-22 after three periods. Barbers Hill put the game on ice by winning the fourth quarter 17-8 for the 22-point victory.

The Lady Eagles are now 22-3 on the season and 5-0 in district play. Barbers Hill will visit Nederland on Friday night.
