BH picks up pair of wins on the hardwood
MONT BELVIEU– The Eagles of Barbers Hill faced off against Lamar Consolidated last Tuesday afternoon at the Fieldhouse and took down the Mustangs 51-41.
Barbers Hill won the first quarter 12-9 and then by the same score in the second stanza to lead 24-18 at the break.
Lamar Consolidated used a 15-11 third quarter to cut into the Eagles lead, and they trailed by just two points heading into the final quarter.
A big final eight minutes saw Barbers Hill hold the Mustangs to just eight points as they outscored Lamar Consolidated 16-8 to get the 10-point win.
On Friday afternoon, the Eagles opened district play at Port Arthur Memorial and left town with a 57-41 victory over the Titans.
The win pushed Barbers Hill to 13-9 on the season and 1-0 in district play.
The Eagles will welcome state-ranked Beaumont United on Friday night to the Fieldhouse in a huge district contest.
