CCHD working to meet needs of service area
ANAHUAC— The Chambers County Hospital District No. 1 recently discussed various ways to meet the needs of the district.
CCHD held its regular meeting on Thursday, April 24, discussing the strategic plan, adding med pods to Dayton schools and more.
Stacey Brown, director of business development and marketing, updated the board on the strategic plan. The Hammes Company is working on a report from a previous retreat attended by board members.
The retreat was held to find potential growth opportunities fitting the needs of the district.
Chambers Health CEO Ann Newton shared that the HVAC installation for the dining area was completed. During the March meeting, Noe Mejia, director of plant operations, requested the purchase of a new HVAC system as it was over 30 years old.
Elissa Lofgren, Chambers Community Health Centers executive director, said the clinic numbers were down due to spring break, but Dayton Independent School District wants to add med pods to more schools. As of February, the clinic serves Dayton High School and Woodrow Wilson Junior High School.
A change was made to the by-laws, increasing the CEO’s spending limit from $5,000 to $25,000.
National Hospital Week will be Sunday, May 11 to Saturday, May 17. The Chambers County Commissioners Court will issue a proclamation honoring the week on Tuesday, May 13, during its regular meeting.
