A Festival of Lights
ANAHUAC— Lighting up the night sky with twinkling Christmas lights, the town was alive with laughter and carols as the community came out to celebrate the holiday season.
The 20th Annual Anahuac Christmas Parade was held on Thursday, Dec. 4, and was themed “Festival of Lights.”
“Everyone was so excited, and it was another successful year,” said Tammy Hale, creator of the event. “Everyone did such an amazing job.”
The parade marshal for the event was Jeri Nelson, chosen by the public as a special addition to the remarkable anniversary.
Although each float shone brightly in its own way, winners had to be chosen, as is tradition.
In the business category, Anahuac National Bank took first, Chambers Health second, and Rosebud Customs third.
For the individual category, Alice and Hubert Breaux took first, with Making Memories for Myles taking second and Maverick’s Heart taking third.
Judging this year’s competition were David Drab, Katilyn Mendez and Fabian Alvarez.
Special thanks went out to the Anahuac High School junior class for providing food, ESA Sorority for helping bring Santa from the North Pole, and the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce for organizing the event.
A special thanks also went to the Cornerstone Church youth group, Anahuac Independent School District FFA and Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.
This year’s sponsors included PP Inc., Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce and Anahuac National Bank.
