Governor appoints Campbell to Coastal Water Authority
AUSTIN– Last week, Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Danny Campbell to the Coastal Water Authority Board of Directors.
Campbell, a resident of Mont Belvieu, is the director of land acquisition at Clay Residential.
A United States Army veteran, Campbell is a member of the Chambers County Veterans Association. He served as an infantry officer and received an honorable discharge in 2012.
Campbell brings an extensive education to the fold, holding several degrees.
According to the governor’s office, he holds a Bachelor of Science in political science from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Arts in intelligence studies from American Military University, a Master of Arts in diplomacy from Norwich University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Campbell is also an associate member of Ladies in Land.
The authority is a conservation and reclamation district in Harris, Chambers and Liberty counties. According to the governor’s office, it has the power to transport and deliver water inside and outside the authority to acquire and construct all necessary properties and facilities needed for such purposes.
The CWA was founded in 1967, providing untreated surface water to approximately 100 industries and agricultural customers, as well as the cities of Houston, Baytown and Deer Park.
Campbell has been appointed to a term that is set to expire in April 2027.
