Lady Eagles move to 24-3 on the season
MONT BELVIEU– The Barbers Hill Lady Eagles improved their record to 24-3 on the season and 7-0 in district play with victories over Nederland and Port Neches-Groves last week.
The week started off with a Tuesday night visit from the Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians at The Fieldhouse.
Barbers Hill had no problems with the Lady Indians, winning 60-23.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 15-7 first period lead and then expanded their advantage to 37-12 at the half with a 22-5 second period.
Barbers Hill then won the third quarter 18-7 to take a 36-point advantage heading into the fourth.
Both teams combined for just nine points in the final period.
On Friday night, the Lady Eagles traveled to Nederland for a matchup with the Lady Bulldogs.
Barbers Hill led 18-5 after the opening quarter, and then a tight second period saw the Lady Eagles win 9-8 to lead 27-13 at the break.
The second half saw Barbers Hill put the game away, outscoring Nederland 34-12 in the final two periods, to push their district record to 7-0.
The state-ranked Lady Eagles are now 24-3 on the season.
Barbers Hill will host Baytown Sterling on Friday night at The Fieldhouse.
