Orangefield downs Anahuac 49-14
ORANGE– The Orangefield Bobcats got three touchdowns from Mason Manning in rolling to a 49-14 Homecoming win over Anahuac on Friday night at Bobcat Stadium.
Manning got Orangefield on the scoreboard first with a 40-yard touchdown run and a 7-0 lead.
Back would come the Panthers as Darius Richardson scored on a 3-yard run, and the game was tied at 7-7.
The Bobcats next offensive possession ended in a 68-yard touchdown pass and a 14-7 lead.
Anahuac responded with an Oscar Garza short touchdown run, and the score was knotted at 14-14 heading into the second quarter.
Orangefield then started to take over and put a couple of touchdowns on the scoreboard in the second quarter, leading 28-14 at the break.
The Panthers were shut out in the second half while the Bobcats scored three touchdowns for the final score of 49-14.
Anahuac did finish with 327 yards of total offense with Jaytwan Dowdye rushing for a team high 81 yards on 21 carries. Richardson added 65 yards on 14 totes.
Quarterback Braydon Sutch passed for 88 yards on 6 of 11 attempts. Dowdye caught two passes for 48 yards while Darion Williams finished with three catches for 33 yards.
The Panthers will return to Kyle White Stadium for a huge rivalry game against the East Chambers Buccaneers.
