BEAUMONT— If you like big plays, Lamar University would have been the place as the area's best met recently for the Southeast Texas Coaches Association All-Star Football game.

Unfortunately, the game did not end on a positive note, though, as a heated exchange between both teams at the 2:39 mark of the third quarter got a little out of control and the referees called the game with the East leading 28-21.

The game capped off the SETCA All-Star Week activities on Friday, 6.

Anahuac's Tyler Kelley played linebacker for the West Team and the future Blinn College Buccaneer was in on several stops.

With the score tied at 7-7, Dayton's Andrew Soliz picked off an East pass and returned it 85-yards the other way for a touchdown to give the West a 14-7 lead.

There were several big plays in the first half, and eventually, the East would score three of the next four touchdowns to move in front 28-21 in the third quarter.

That is when things got heated between both teams, and the game would be called in as the East team was declared the 28-21 winner.
