Summer work program offers opportunity with kids
ANAHUAC— This summer, a high school senior is learning all about how to care for young children through the Anahuac Municipal Development District’s Summer Job Training Program.
Anahuac High School senior Jaylynn Lewis is working at The Adventure Academy, formerly the Little Busy Bee’s Preschool.
While working directly with young children, Lewis learned they have very different yet funny personalities.
After graduation, Lewis plans to attend Lamar University with aspirations to become an ultrasound technician.
At AHS, Lewis is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, NHS and serves as president of the Black History Club.
Lewis also enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends.
This year, nine students are participating in the program, either part-time or full-time, to increase their odds of starting their careers early on.
