WINNIE— Trinity Bay Conservation District continues working on projects, and as the year comes to an end, the board took a look back at the year, both financially and on completed projects.

Trinity Bay Conservation District met on Tuesday, Dec. 23, discussing the district’s financials for the 2025 fiscal year.

A representative of Wathen DeShong and Juncker, LLP, provided the annual financial audit.

The district had $45.9 million in assets at the end of the fiscal year, a decrease of about $1 million from the previous year.

The district had about $13.1 million in revenue for the year, with net revenue up about $121,000. TBCD had a net income of $142,000 for the year.

The board approved a final payment of $85,000 for the 20-inch waterline, which heads south across Interstate 10 from the water treatment plant in Winnie.

General Foreman Amos Roy gave an update on drainage, noting the continued work on Rush Ditch, Double Bayou tributary and Onion Bayou.

As the new year approaches, Roy briefly recapped projects from 2025.

Roy noted the concrete bridge over Crooked Bayou and the 160-foot pipe installation at the canal in Anahuac.

Roy discussed vegetation maintenance, noting over 30 miles was covered for the third year in a row.

“I think that’s a phenomenal number for the equipment that we have and what we deal with on a yearly basis,” Roy said.

Additionally, over 2,250 acres were sprayed with herbicide.

As for the utilities side, 2,056 water meters were installed in the Anahuac area, with 1,165 pending. For Winnie, 2,194 meters were installed with 1,031 pending.
