Dayton Rotary Inducts Two New Members

DAYTON - The Dayton Rotary Club inducted two new members.

Long- time Rotarian Bill Buchanan did the honors of presenting Mr. John Gable and Ms. Kaitlin Vanpool to the club. President Rachel Ansley welcomed both of the new members, “ We are excited to have these two young folks into our club. They will both be a great addition to the Dayton Rotary Club.”

President Ansley introduced Universal Agape Love’s Sephanie Montgomery ( CEO) and Wendy Soliday ( VP) to bring the program. “Our mission is to provide community support by aiding the holistic individual development of our clients; through peer support programs, counseling, advocacy, training, education and outreach. Our vision is to go beyond the paved path of assisting clients by creating sustainable help for those in need,” stated Montgomery. The founders saw an enormous need for services and assistance in Liberty and surrounding counties. During the pandemic and weather disasters that followed, they rolled up their sleeves and distributed vital supplies to over a thousand families within the community. The women discussed their plans and services for the year includes Food Drives/ Food Distribution, Pregnancy Care Services, Mentorship Program, Counseling Services, Legal Advocacy, Veteran Services, Career Coaching, Life Skills Classes, EAP Services and Transitional Housing Placement. They also offer GED classes for young adult’s ages 16- 24. The CEO was excited to announce that they would be holding an upcoming Christmas Winter Wonderland Sharing Event. The group is looking for sponsors and volunteers to assist with this event. Light refreshments will be served along with a Christmas workshop and pictures for commemorating the event. The building will be decorated and transformed into a Christmas winter wonderland. The volunteers will be passing out gifts, passing out stockings to the children, and working the Hot Chocolate bar station. Ms. Montgomery finished her presentation by giving away two door prizes. Ironically, the two newest members’ names were drawn. President Ansley reminded the members of the upcoming All-You-Can- Eat Fish Fry that will be held Oct. 7th @ Wilson Jr. High commons before the Broncos home football game. The times run from 4:00-7:00 (or until sold out). Tickets are $ 14.00 each and can be purchased by any Dayton Rotarian and/or bought at the door on Oct. 7th.
