State Representative Terri Leo Wilson delivers a special presentation to Dr. John Redman of Chambers Health in recognition of his continued mission trips. John Redman of Chambers Health, recently participated in his ninth medical mission trip to Somoto, Nicaragua.

Redman was part of a team with Global Health Outreach that traveled out of the country a week in September to provide healthcare services to under-served residents in the country of Nicaragua. He has traveled to Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Moldova and Ecuador.

The group provided a variety of healthcare services including medical care, dental exams and tooth extractions, medications, and even reading glasses, all at no cost to the patients. There were approximately 900 patients, including children and adults, treated during their week- long trip. Redman shared the story of their journey to see a gentleman who lived in the mountains and could not get down to the clinic. The team brought him some medications and a walker, and he was very thankful.

“Some of people traveled for up to two hours to reach our clinic,” shared Redman.

When asked how he became involved or interested in mission trips, he advised, “I believe that God has called me to these short-term medical mission trips. It is a privilege to use the gifts and abilities given to me to bless others from around the world.”

Redman would like to thank his wife and children, as well as Chambers Health, for their support and help while he is out on these short-term medical mission trips.
