LIBERTY — Maple Street Church of Christ in Liberty has welcomed Stan Adams as its new pastor.

Stan and his wife, Carla Adams, are settling into Liberty after moving from Hickory, North Carolina.

The couple lived in Texas in the late 80s and 90s, where they raised their sons, and the boys married Texas girls, providing an opening to return to Texas.

Stan and Carla met in 1975, and the couple has been married for 48 years, raising three sons and seven grandchildren.

The Adams have spread the message globally for over 47 years, including Israel, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Ireland and Australia.

Adams has also preached full-time in Alabama, Florida and North Carolina.

Adams preached in Lake Jackson and Edna from 1986-1990 at the Church of Christ on Old Angleton Road and Robinson Street Church of Christ.

Stan attended Florida College in Tampa, Florida, where he majored in biblical studies.

The Adams look forward to being active in the community by helping others in the name of God.

Adams hopes to encourage his church and the community to return to their roots and “a return to authority and what is pleasing to God.”

Stan will be writing a regular column on The Vindicator’s worship page entitled “What the Bible Says.”

The column will be designed to answer questions others may have regarding what the Bible teaches on various issues and subjects.
