A Benefit for Nate Smart was held Saturday, September 11th, at the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post 5921 in Liberty from 11 AM until the last auction gavel fell about 4 PM. Proceeds from the benefit will help cover medical treatment expenses for Nate Smart. Nate suffers from Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculaneuropathy (CIDP)., a rare type of autoimmune disorder where the body attacks its own tissues.

With a Live Auction, fried fish plates, a 50/50 Lotto Hat, Corn Hole Tournament, and Poker-Chip Gun giveaway, the community came out in full force to help Nate and his family fight this rare illness.

Donations were greatly appreciated. For more information regarding additional donations, please contact Sue Montecollo at 936-334-2155; Penny Johnson, 936-346-5166; Kelly Foxworth, 936-334-6750.
