DAYTON – Have you done any local shopping of late? Perhaps you have hit up some of your favorite boutiques and small businesses? If you haven’t, join the Dayton Economic Developmental Corporation and Dayton Chamber of Commerce to support small businesses in the community.

As more big box chains come to the area, the community should not forget their local small businesses.

DEDC’s Tera Aguero and Dayton Chamber Executive Director Sean Stockard have come together to show how much they appreciate the small business community.

“Small businesses are the heart of the community,” said Aguero.

The chamber and DEDC want to show their support during the holidays and let them know they are here for them to help continue their hard work.

Now, they want to give back to the community and have created an opportunity to submit their receipts of $25 or more at businesses, such as hair salons, boutiques, local diners, and even The Vindicator, to win prizes.

When you enter your receipt, you enter a chance to win either the grand prize basket with a $500 value or one of ten $ 25 gift cards to a local business.

Stockard, who recently took the lead at the chamber, is excited to bring the business communities of Dayton and Liberty together and work to champion these businesses.

“The Dayton Chamber is excited to be a partner with DEDC on this project, and we are proud to say that all gift certificates will be coming from Liberty small businesses,” said Stockard.

The small business community is essential not just for the country but also for Liberty County. The chamber has recognized this, as they would not be here if it were for these businesses.

All receipts must be submitted by noon on Saturday, Nov. 25, as they will draw for the winners at 2 p.m.

The winners will be announced every hour on the half- hour at the DEDC and Dayton Chamber booth set up at the Market 535 Christmas at the Crossroads beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Multiple entries are allowed, and every qualifying receipt is one entry.

Non- eligible receipts include those from big box stores or national chains such as Dollar General, Walgreens, and Family Dollar. Other stores that are not qualified are grocery, liquor, tobacco, gas, and convenience stores, national fast food restaurant chains such as Mcdonald’s, Taco Bell, or Starbucks, and bars.

Receipts that include any tobacco, alcohol, or gasoline dated before Oct. 23 or after Nov. 25 will not be accepted.

You may scan the bar code provided or email info@daytontx.com to submit your receipt.
