Posted in:

The Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber’s 30th Annual Steak Dinner/’500’Drawing/Auction will be held 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Dayton Community Center. Tickets are $100.00 each and will soon be on sale. You may come by the Chamber office at any time and reserve your favorite lucky number.

Everyone is invited to attend this event. The chamber pushes and supports businesses, so you are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear your business shirt, if you would like.

The event begins with a delicious pit-cooked steak dinner and all the trimmings prepared on site by the ‘Flat-Line Cookers’, the award winning cooking team of Liberty-County EMS, which consists of EMS personnel and volunteers. LaVonna Templeton is the un-official/official ‘Chief Cook’ who orders the food for this large event and organizes the preparation, along with Mike Koen, Michael Templeton and Johnny Spurlock. The steak dinners are served from 6-7:30 p.m.

The Silent Auction begins at 6 p.m., followed by the Live Auction at 7:30-7:45 p.m. Plan to arrive a little early to browse among the auction items until serving begins.

This event has many moving parts. Cliff Richey and Bill Monk of Thrif-Tee Foods, Dayton will again provide sound for the event. Liberty County Tax Collector Richard Brown will be conducting the drawing for the ‘500’ which will begin near 6 p.m. The ‘500’ is a reverse draw with fifteen great prizes to be won. Visit libertydaytonchamber.com for a full list of this year’s prizes. Each ‘500’ ticket is your entry into the drawing and also entitles you to a delicious steak dinner with all the trimmings. Desserts and beverages are also included, at no charge.

Auction items include vacation and golf packages, tickets to entertainment and athletic events, fishing, camping and hunting gear, tools, household items and much more. More information is provided nearer the day of the event. Please contact the chamber to have your business represented with an auction item or monetary support of this year’s fundraiser.
