Red Top enters negotiations

At the Liberty City Council Meeting on Tuesday night, the council voted 6-0 in favor of a resolution authorizing Liberty City Manager Tom Warner to negotiate and execute a lease agreement with Scott and Jolee Neal for the use of the clubhouse restaurant at the Liberty Municipal Golf Course.

Scott and Jolee Neal are the owners and operators of the famous Red Top Treats and Red Top Wagon in Liberty. The hope is to open a new restaurant once the Liberty Municipal Golf Course renovation and remodeling are completed.

“Early on, people were pushing us to open a full-service restaurant. After much talking, we decided that this endeavor fit us and we think our skill sets fit the atmosphere at the golf course,” said Scott Neal.

The news of a full-service Red Top restaurant will surely be exciting news to the many Liberty residents who wait patiently for the Facebook posts of their unique daily specials.
