RAYWOOD — With plenty of National Night Out events around the county, Liberty County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office decided to join in on the fun.

Constable Precinct 2 John Tucker is hosting his first National Night Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 6 to 8 p. m.

“ When I took over as constable in January, I knew I wanted to be more involved with the community and just build a trusting relationship with the community,” Tucker said, adding that he wants people to feel at ease coming to his office if they have any problems.

The event is the perfect time to meet local law enforcement, and Tucker welcomes attendees to share concerns or hopes for the future.

“ I was just hoping that quite a bit of the community would come out,” Tucker said. “Give us the opportunity to meet the ones who haven’t met me and all the new guys.”

The constable’s office will be providing free hot dogs, chips and drinks, and there will be giveaways and goodie bags for attendees.

Local businesses QYK and Outcast Towing will also be there with booths, and there will be plenty of music to enjoy.

“ It’s the one night a year where everybody can come together, fellowship, enjoy food and meet the people who serve their communities,” Tucker said.

The event will be at 3556 FM 160 N., Raywood.
