Free conference on healthy aging

What should I know today, so that I can age better tomorrow? Take the first step to answering this important question by attending the conference on HEALTH, HEALING AND LIVING AS WE AGE. Build your confidence and knowledge in available options. This conference aims to empower you to become an advocate for others and demonstrates how the communities of Liberty County are working to support you and your family’s healthcare needs.

Community leaders will be presenting valuable information on understanding the challenges that may come with the aging process.

Presenters include Dayton’s Police Chief Robert Vine, presenting Protecting yourself from Scammers, Swindlers, and Scumbags. Amy Cash and Lan Than, two well-known healthcare insurance experts, talking about Medicare, Medicaid, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, and other health insurance options (Medicare & Medicaid: Mistakes, Myths & Misconceptions). You will be able to choose between learning from the experienced master level social worker, La Tesa Williams-Spencer, who will guide you on, The Art of having Difficult Conversations, or Melissa Richards and Cindy Griffin (from Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center) presenting critical information on Hospitalization: What you need to know from Admission to Discharge. The conference winds down with Judge J. Knight, Commissioner Arthur, and Rhonda Campbell (CEO of Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center) uniting to discuss Beyond 2021: The Future of Liberty County’s Healthcare. The conference ends with Dr. Frank Fee, a noted geriatric psychologist, talking on Resiliency: Bouncing Back from adversity.
