It seems like there is just something about a new pair of shoes, we have all experienced that proud new shoe feeling once or twice in our lives, but for some, that new pair of shoes means so much more than just a pair of shoes, it can be the difference in a life altogether. For Diane Mayhew, it has become a calling to help supply those in need with shoes and socks through the Footprints For The Kingdom Ministry program.

Organized in April of 2020, Mayhew is the President and founder of the organization that makes it their mission to help provide an essential need that many of us undoubtedly take for granted. Since its inception, the 501 (c)(3) has provided services and distributed shoes and socks to 342 individuals last year alone.

“God put it on my heart. If someone says they need a pair of shoes, we provide a pair of sneakers and a package of a week’s worth of socks. We mostly provide sneakers, but sometimes donations come in that are other types of shoes. Like dress shoes or sandals and we give those as a bonus if we have them. We also provide work shoes/boots. Those have been to shelters where men needed them to work,” said Mayhew.

Saturday, they set up their first central distribution location at New Life Church in Kenefick. The program was a roaring success as they distributed 71 shoe bags.

The program takes donations of shoes and socks and monetary donations that they, in turn, purchase more shoes and socks with for those in need.

The shoe bags have come from Heavens Army Home of Amazing Grace, and Mayhew’s mother helps craft the shoe bags.

“Donations are truly grateful and are tax-deductible as we are a 501(c) (3),” said Mayhew.

Mayhew wants to thank the folks at New Life Church for partnering with the ministry and everything they do to support the program.
