Twelve women from Liberty County have filed the necessary paperwork to reinstate the Liberty County Republican Women Club.

Republican Women clubs in Texas are chartered under the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women, and that process is underway, says Sarah Vickery, the initial president and organizer. Vickery says the paperwork for the Liberty County Republican Women PAC has also been filed with the Texas Ethics Commission.

The first meeting of the new club will be Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Liberty House in Liberty, Texas.

“We invite all conservative women who are concerned about the direction of our county, our state and nation to come together at our first meeting of the new year,” Vickery stated.

The Liberty House is located at 2208 MLK Dr., Liberty, TX 77575 next door to the Liberty LumberJAXE restaurant.

Incoming Liberty County Republican Party Precinct No. 9 (Tarkington area) chair Karen Sarginson is serving as the initial vice president of the club.

For those interested in being on the ground floor, membership inquiries can be directed to the VP of Membership, Pam Smith. Smith has a history of being involved in the Liberty County Republican Party; she has served as membership coordinator for the Liberty County Republican Party and her husband Brian Smith is the precinct chair for Hull-Daisetta area. Darla Elder is serving as the club’s initial secretary.
