Do you know of a child between the ages of 5 years old up to a Senior in high school who loves to can, bake, paint, draw, sew, woodwork, craft, or even take pictures? Does the child live in Liberty or Chambers County? Then the TVE Home Economics Contest might be something your child is interested in! By participating in this contest, the child will have the opportunity to show off and display his/her talents! Children ages eight years and up must be enrolled in either 4-H or FFA by October and be enrolled in a private or public school in Liberty or Chambers County. Not a member of either, don’t worry! Contact the Extension Office for guidance. All entries must be registered online at tve.farwire.com by September 30, 2021. No late entries will be excepted. Youth Exhibitors may enter up to 1 entry in each class, and there are 64 classes, so the possibilities are grand!
Saturday, October 9, 2021, will be the TVE Home Economics Contest Entry Check-In and Judging Day for 2021. The Contest Committee wants to feature how our local youth use “Sugar and Spice for Everyday Life,” which is this year’s theme! Notice this date will no longer conflict with other livestock show move-in or show dates. All entries and awards will be available for exhibitor Pick-Up on October 10.
There will be a virtual presentation of ALL Home Economics Entries, including the award-winning entries, that will be featured during the TVE Fair and Livestock Show and online. This year SIX overall Grand Champion Entries will have the opportunity to participate in the TVE Youth Auction on October 22. The entries that will advance to the youth auction will be: Overall Pie, Overall Bread, Overall Decorated Cake, Overall Food, Overall Fine Arts, and Overall Handicraft/Floriculture. All contests and awards need sponsors. If you or your company are interested in becoming a 2021 TVE Sponsor, there are multiple levels. Each level will provide different marketing methods, hospitality, and Livestock Show and Rodeo admission and parking perks during the TVE Livestock Show and Rodeo. For more information, your welcome to call the TVE Office at 936-336-7455.
Volunteers Wanted & Needed! If you are interested in helping out with any of the following tasks, we need you on the committee: assist with set-up clean-up, entry check-in, and organization, taking pictures, creating a virtual award presentation.
