LCSO announces partnership plans for training academy

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce their partnership with College of the Mainland. Through this alliance, the Sheriff’s Office will be providing a night-time Basic Peace Officer Academy. Student will be prepared for the state licensing exam by attending courses such as Penal Code, Traffic Enforcement, Use of Force, Cultural Diversity, Crisis Intervention Training, Professional Policing, and Interacting with the Public. There will be several instructors who are subject matter experts in their field who will be conducting the training.

The application process will begin October 1, 2021. The Academy is scheduled to begin January 31, 2022, with classes being held from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

To apply, prospective students can go onto the College of the Mainland website and download an application. Applications will also be available at the Sheriff’s Office which is located at 2400 Beaumont Ave, Liberty, TX, 77575.
