DAYTON – There was a lot of excitement for the opening of the brandnew Wendy’s, with some folks lining up before the sun came up to enjoy the newest local eatery.

“Even though we are locally owned, based in Sugar Land, we are excited to open our 403rd Wendy’s restaurant in Dayton. While the local community is small, we anticipate that we will be able to serve travelers in the area high-quality choices for fresh, never frozen hamburgers, original chili, fresh potatoes, and salads while also serving America’s Favorite Breakfast,” said Roger Adams, Regional Director of Operations for HAZA Foods.

Before the official opening, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce held a small gathering of local business members and city leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Those that came out enjoyed special treats and other giveaways throughout the morning.

“They gave us so many treats by the time they let us in; we were not even hungry. I’m very happy Wendy’s put such a great place in our small but growing town,” said Les Abner.

There was also a special surprise for the first 100 customers, with Wendy’s awarding a year of free food at the new location.

The new eatery is just one of the latest to come to Dayton in the last year, and more big announcements are just around the corner, according to several sources.
