LIBERTY – Mark those calendars now as organizers have begun work on the Fourth Annual Liberty County Prayer March and invite the community to participate in the event.
This year’s event will honor the youth of Liberty County, and organizers hope to see as many young people as possible participate in the march.
“This year, our prayer March will be dedicated to our local youth, who will lead our march this year,” said event founder Jane Delaney.
An informational meeting has been scheduled at the Jack Hartel Building on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 3 p.m., where organizers hope to inspire local church leaders and individuals to get fired up and spread the word about the event.
“ We are hopeful, excited, and enthusiastic about getting every youth leader in the county committed to our Fourth Annual Prayer March,” said Delaney.
Delaney is excited to announce the inclusion of the Liberty High School Choir under the direction of Christy Bean at this year’s event.
Organizers are also planning to honor the memory of the late Rev. Dwight Pruitt, who was always an integral part of the march.
“ Reverend Dwight Pruitt was an inspirational leader and powerful example of Godly service principles and integrity throughout Liberty County,” said Delaney.
As always, the event is set for the first Saturday in October, with this year’s edition scheduled for Oct. 7 in Downtown Liberty. The event will kick off at the Vera Faye Daniel Gazebo at noon.
