Cleveland man sentenced in gruesome murder

Gerard Simmons of Cleveland was sentenced to 50-years in prison last week in the 75th District Court of Judge Mark Morefield for the murder of Latasha Green in the summer of 2016. Security was on heightened alert during the proceedings last week, as the victim’s former boyfriend was handed down his sentence.

Simmons murdered Green by strangulation at their home in Cleveland and afterward violated the victim’s corpse before disposing of the body.
