On May 27, during the Liberty County Commissioners Court, Liberty County Judge Jay Knight made a proclamation declaring the month of May as Affordable and Fair Housing Month for Liberty County.

The Liberty County Housing Authority board is appointed by the Commissioners Court for two year terms. The public housing authority created with the purpose of furthering the availability of decent, safe and affordable housing within its jurisdiction to all persons of varying income. The goal of the authority is to help citizens of Liberty County achieve home ownership, which includes first time home buyers, and homeowners looking to move to better homes.

“The Liberty County Housing Authority wants to target affordable housing in Liberty County, to get out and provide information for people looking to buy a home. We have a long way to go in Liberty Country but our team is helping people reach the American dream of homeownership.”
