Jones Public Library was over the moon about hosting Orbit and his friend Oscar for our Launch into Summer Reading Party, where 275 kids and 190 adults joined us for this exciting event.

Orbit and Oscar did a 30-minute show on the importance of reading and library etiquette. He took pictures with everyone in the audience after the show. We had popcorn available as well as cookies and drinks provided by Chicken Express and the Friends of the Library. Kids were able to participate in a gravity paint experiment that will hang as an art piece in the library for the remainder of the Summer Reading Program.

We would like to take a moment to thank our performers — Oscar and Orbit — for an incredible show; Chicken Express in Dayton for providing cookies and drinks; Friends of the Library for providing cookies; our incredible list of volunteers without whom we could not have pulled this off: Carla Weaver, Melanie Orebo, Lundyn Orebo, Lily Burns and Zoey Garvin.
