On Wednesday, Aug. 7, detectives with the Dayton Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division along with members of the Harris County Pct.3 Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a search warrant and felony arrest warrant at 16119 Palm St. in Channelview.

The warrants were part of the ongoing investigation of an Aggravated Robbery of the Stripes Convenience Store in Dayton.

The execution of the warrants resulted in the arrest of Daniel Gallegos, 18, of Channelview for Aggravated Robbery and the recovery of an AR-15 style rifle believed to have been used in the robbery.

Gallegos was transported to the Harris County Jail and will be extradited back to Liberty county.

“We would like to extend a special thank you to Harris County Pct.3 Assistant Chief Rick Larkin, Corporal Steven Dugat and the members of their Criminal Investigation Unit,” said Police Chief Robert Vine. “Working together makes all of our communities safer.”
