Donald Lee “Monkey” Fingleman, 1952-2024

Donald Lee “ Monkey” Fingleman, 71, of Kenefick, Texas, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 20, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to the late Jake and Florene Fingleman. Donny graduated from M.B. Smiley High School, in Houston, the class of 1970. He was a proud member of the motorcycle club The Gypsies.

Donny pursued many interests, some of which included riding his motorcycle, and sitting on the porch. He enjoyed the simple things in life like just staying home. Donny was a calm quiet man, so when he spoke you knew to listen because it was going to be good. He was known to never say bye but would say “later” instead and if you said bye, he was quick to correct you. Donny had a great sense of humor and could easily light up any dark room with is personality. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pamela of twenty-three years; and his sister-in-law Jane Fingleman. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his sons William Fingleman and husband Phillip of Houston, Allen Fingleman and wife Jennifer of Channelview, and Daniel Fingleman and wife Melissa of Dayton; his daughter Amanda Cummins and husband Josh of Kenefick; his grandchildren Kayla Fingleman of Huffman, Bailey Fingleman of Channelview, Jake Fingleman of Huffman, Jillian Fingleman of Huffman, Aiden Cummins of Kenefick, Aaron Cummins of Kenefick and Autumn Cummins of Kenefick; his great- grandchildren Oliver Rodriguez of Huffman, Travis Huston of Huffman and Raelei Huston of Huffman; his brothers Sonny Fingleman of Richmond and Joey Fingleman and wife Angie of Kenefick; his numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jason Fingleman, Christopher Fingleman, Ashton Fingleman, Kenneth Barton, Samer Adawin and Mark Henderson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at noon, on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main St., Dayton, Texas 77535. A funeral service will begin at 2pm, at the funeral home. A graveside service and committ al will immediately follow in French Cemetery.
