Helen Faye Fingleman, 1936-2021

Helen Faye Fingleman, 84, formerly of Liberty, Texas passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas. She was born on April 6, 1936 to parents Athie Cornelius and Nellie Singleton Cornelius.

Helen graduated Liberty High School in 1954, and worked for Griffin Drugs in Liberty. She attended Beauty School in Houston where she went on to practice cosmetology with Helen Walker for many years, then fixed hair from home for family and friends, for many years. In 1980, she opened her own beauty shop “Hair by Helen Faye” where she not only fixed hair, but made many lifelong friends!

She was a member of Heights Baptist Church for 45 years!

After being a beautician for 60 years, she retired and moved to Lake Tawakoni.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-nine years Bernie Fingleman, and second husband of four years Roger Mize. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Brenda Faye Fingleman Urban and husband Charles; sons Walter Fingleman and Jody Blankenbaker; granddaughter Emily Howle and husband Tyler; granddaughter Krista Colby and husband Stephen; granddaughter Jenna Brown and husband Nathan; granddaughter Menda Fingleman and fiancé Austin McCracken; great-grandchildren Madison, Conner, Brandon, Hailey, Lucas, Kairi, Cadence, Paisleigh, and Karson; sisters Alma Shannon and husband Lynn and Joan Davis. Special cousin Clifford Hopson and wife Sandy. In addition, she leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Friends are invited to enjoy lunch and visit with the family on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 11-1 PM at Heights Baptist Church 2401 Jefferson Drive, Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM at Heights Baptist with Pastor Tim Gruver officiating. Burial and committal will immediately follow at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Tyler Howle, Stephen Colby, Nathan Brown, Austin McCracken, Robert Potez and Patrick Shannon. Honorary pallbearers are Lucas Brown, Brandon Colby, Conner Howle, and Karson McCracken.
