Lee Alfred Davis, 1935-2021

Lee Alfred Davis, 85, of Redlands, California, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. He was born in Illinois, on December 6, 1935, to parents Alfred Leroy Davis and Hazel Florence Rosenberger.

Lee enlisted in the Navy upon graduation from Liberty High School in 1954. His first year or so in the Navy was spent in school at the Great Lakes Naval facility in Illinois. He was a Fire Control Technician on a ballistic missile submarine initially and spent 31 years in the Navy, and was deployed during both the Korean & Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Commander while based in San Diego, CA. He then went to work for General Dynamics, which was bought out by Hughes & then Raytheon in both San Diego, CA. & Tucson, AR. His specialty was overseeing the production of Tomahawk missiles. He retired from Raytheon in 2006. He then moved to Palm Desert, CA., and joined the Shriners. He spent several years as a volunteer driver for underprivileged children with disabilities by driving them to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He moved to Redlands, CA., in 2017 for his remaining years.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mark Dana Davis of Baytown, Texas. He leaves behind his beloved wife Gayle; daughters Lisa Hubbell, Redlands, CA., Karen d’ Acosta, Sherri Littlefield, Rogers, AR; his son Al Davis, Port Orchard, WA; sister Barbara Moss of Liberty, Texas; brothers Bill & wife Cathey Davis of League City, Texas, Andy & wife Nancy Davis of Baytown, Texas.

A service will be held at the Elks Lodge in Redlands, California. Lisa and Chris Hubbell will be officiating. The date and time were pending.
