    Lee Burt Gruver, 1967-2019

Lee Burt Gruver, age 51 of Liberty, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, while working in Lakota, Iowa, as a pilot escort driver for the transport of windmill blades.

Lee was born on Oct. 8, 1967, to Bro. Lee and Linda Gruver, pastor of Batson Prairie Baptist Church. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1986, where he was vice-president in FCA and in athletics in football, golf, and baseball, especially as a pitcher. Lee grew up enjoying the great outdoors. After college, he did many different types of work and was a depot manager for Schwann's in Liberty and also in Katy. He worked in land lease work and as the liaison with the oil crews and landowners. Lee grew up and was baptized in Heights Baptist Church, and later the youth group at Dogwood, and then was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Houston at the Katy Campus.

Lee is preceded in death by grandparents Margaret Evans Besch of Daisetta, Alfred Besch of Winnie, Alan and Bertha Biddle Gruver of Dayton, uncles Alfred Lane Besch of Humble, and Lonnie Gruver of Dayton, cousin Steven, Chandler of Humble, and brother-in-law Kevin Ladd of Hardin.

Lee is survived by his parents, Bro. Lee and Linda Besch Gruver of Daisetta; sister, Christi Gruver Ladd of Hardin; uncles, Roy Besch of Sarasota, Florida, and Clarence (DeeAnn) Gruver of Huffman; aunts, Velda (Fred) Nichols of Humble, and Jimmie Lou (Roger) Powe of Dayton. He leaves behind a dozen first cousins and their families, extended family, and a host of friends from school, work, and travels along the road.

Friends are invited to a memorial celebration of life at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29.
