Marie passed from this life while surrounded by her family on Monday, July 1. She was born on June 27, 1961 in Houston to Bob and Bobbie Diaz.

Mrs. Henson was a strong and faithful Christian woman. She believed strongly in natural healings and holistic medicines throughout her long and well fought illness. She was a lover of everything outdoors. Marie was always fishing any time she could with friends and family. Being out on the water was always her happy place. Mrs. Henson loved to have her coffee on her porch just listening to the birds. At one point in her life she was always rescuing animals of any kind. Marie enjoyed knitting whenever she found time for it. Marie was a fan of many different types of music and was always up for good live music.

Marie’s greatest treasure in life was her family. She was a loving and caring woman who was always caring for others above herself. No matter if it was her children or others that she considered to be children, she made sure that they never went without the things they needed. When her daughters were younger she was always involved in Girl Scouts of America with them. She was truly dedicated to those whom she loved. Mrs. Henson had many special friends that she loved dearly. Marie will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Karl Henson; sons, Marcus Diaz, Andrew Martinez; daughters, Amy Vercher, Alicia Henson; father, Bob Diaz; brothers, Bobby Diaz, Tony Diaz; sisters, Sandra Helkin, Amanda Ihuit, Teri Barnes; grandchildren, Amari, Halle, Alexia, Emilie, Ava, Amber and Marcus Jr.
