Baytown, TX – The Lee College Foundation is happy to announce Jennifer Garcia as the new Director of Major and Planned Gifts. In this role, Garcia will coordinate the College’s ongoing fundraising efforts, identify potential donors and maintain collaborative relationships with community leaders.

“This position was created to support next-level growth and expansion of the Lee College Foundation moving forward,” said Dr. Angela Oriano, Executive Director of the Lee College Foundation. “Jennifer brings a high level of expertise, knowledge and passion to this position, and we are thrilled to have her as an integral part of our team.”

Previously a fundraising liaison for the American Cancer Society and manager at a major healthcare corporation, Garcia says she looks forward to getting to know the local community and connecting people with opportunities to give.

“I am excited to be at Lee College and make a difference in students’ lives by helping them reach their goals,” said Garcia. “That’s really what it’s all about.”

Originally from Lufkin, Texas, Garcia and her family relocated to Baytown last year because of the many promising employment opportunities in the area. Since then, she has found Lee College to be the perfect fit for the next step in her professional career.

“Lee College just feels like home.”

Since 1968, the Lee College Foundation has made it possible for many students to overcome financial barriers that have held them back from their dreams of achieving a college education. Last year alone, the Foundation provided more than 1,000 students with scholarships totaling $613,000, and awarded nearly $200,000 in emergency funding to more than 300 students.

The Foundation’s Annual Gala, the organization’s most significant fundraiser of the year, is scheduled for Friday, September 24, 2021 at Sylvan Beach Pavilion. The Foundation is currently seeking donations for live and silent auction items, as well as event underwriters and sponsors.
