Area schools have strong showing at Trinity Valley Relays

MONT BELVIEU- The 2023 Trinity Valley Relays were held on Friday in Mont Belvieu at Eagles Stadium due to issues with the track in Liberty.

On the boy’s side, Barbers Hill won the team totals, and Dayton shed second with 129, and Liberty was fourth with 79.

The boys high jump saw Liberty’s Dawson Victorian finish in 3rd place, while the boy’s long jump was one by the Panthers Alex Valtierra and Dayton’s Jakari Cooper finished in 2nd place.

In the boys discus throw saw, Tarkington’s Kaden Enbe finished 2nd. Eric Rosales of the Broncos won the boy’s shot put.

In the 3200- meter run, Dayton’s Peyton Snapp won the race going away. T he 4x100 meter relay team of Liberty’s Kaiden Jones, Zach Breaux, Valtierra, and Victorian won 1st place.

In the boys 800- meter run, the Broncos took 1st and 2nd place, with Jaxon Asbill winning the goal and Isaac Ramirez taking 2nd.

Jones of Liberty crossed the line in 1st place in the 100- meter dash.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Dayton’s Jeramiah Stevens, Jakari Cooper, Ramirez, and Brodie Valentine was 2nd place behind Splendora.

The 200- meter dash was won by Breaux of the Panthers In the 4x400 meter relay, the Ramirez, Stevens, Valentine, and Snapp team finished in 1st by some : 04 seconds for Dayton.

The Broncos dominated in the 1600- meter run, with Snapp, Jacob Thomas, and Xavier Garcia finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

On the girls side, it was Barbers Hill winning the team total, with Dayton taking third, Liberty in fifth, and Tarkington sixth.

The girls discus throw saw Katelyn Payton of the Broncos finish in 3rd place while teammate Kharma Brown took 2nd in the high jump. Brown did grab gold in the triple jump.

The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Asjia Fountain, Cherish Robinson, Bailee Slack, and Breezy Pantalion of Liberty finish in 2nd place.

Julianne Shivers of the Lady Panthers took 2nd place in the 800- meter run.

In the girls 1600- meter run, Dayton’s Jamie Maddy finished in 3rd place, while the girls meter relay team of Linda Bibbs, Zyriah Booker, Cianna Baldwin, and Brown crossed the finish line in 3rd place.
