Area schools look to keep moving on in postseason play

As teams enter the second week of the softball playoffs and the opening week of the baseball postseason, six Liberty County programs are left looking to make their mark.

The Liberty Lady Panthers and Hull- Daisetta Lady Cats will each play a one-game winner-takeall all game this week as they fight to advance.

Liberty will face the Bullard Lady Panthers on Friday at 6: 30 p. m. at Lufkin High School. Hull- Daisetta will be playing at Cedar Creek High School in Bastrop on Thursday at 6 p. m. against Menard.

On the baseball side of things, the Dayton Broncos will face off against the Montgomery Bears in a best two- out- ofthree series starting on Thursday at 7 p. m. at The Woodlands Christian High School. Details on game two and three will be announced.

The Hardin Hornets will also play a twoout- of- three series with Nacogdoches Central Heights. All games will be played at Livingston High School, with the opening game coming on Thursday afternoon at 4: 30 p. m. Game two will be on Friday at 5 p. m., with game three, if needed, following afterward.

It will be a one- game winner- take- all all on Thursday night at City Park Field as the Liberty Panthers will host Booker T. Washington out of HISD at 7 p. m.

The Bobcats of Hull- Daisetta will compete against Round Top- Carmine in a threegame series starting on Thursday at 4: 30 p. m. Game two of the series will come 30 minutes after the completion of game one. If a third game is needed, both teams will return to West Fork High School on Friday.
